Obituary

Vincent Allen Nimrichter, 64, of Sandusky, died Tuesday, February 23, 2021 following a four-month cancer battle.

He was born January 17, 1957 to Harry Frank Nimrichter Jr. and Karen Arlene (VanBuren) Nimrichter. He attended Sts. Peter & Paul Elementary School, where he served as an altar boy. He then attended Perkins Schools, graduating from Perkins High in 1975. It was during his senior year that he met Deborah Elliott and said, “I’m gonna marry that girl.” And on June 20, 1975 he did just that.

In their 45 years together, Deb and Vince added four children, Kari Joy (Steve) Tomasula, Brent Donovan Nimrichter, Barry David (Lisa) Nimrichter, and Derek Van (Kelly) Nimrichter; seven grandchildren, Kathy, Kelsey, Ethan, Zoe, Harper, Avery, and Deryn. He will be missed greatly by all.

Vince was employed by J. H. Routh Packing, and then attended BGSU where he graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Healthcare Administration. This led to his employment with Firelands Counseling and Recovery Services in the Vocational Department, where he was affectionately referred to as “King Vince.” He was known to call out to no one in particular, “Need some coffee down here!”

He was a member of ECCL and enjoyed going to the range with his boys and Deb. His other interests where The Beatles, playing guitar, fishing, and his English bulldogs, Butkus, Studley, and Meatball.

He had a deep, abiding faith in his Lord and Savior that saw him through many times of adversity. We will miss his strength and his ability to see humor even in the most trying of circumstances.

Along with his wife and family Vince is survived by his favorite uncle, Tom (Phyllis) Nimrichter; a niece; and a cousin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Walker; and brother, Troy Nimrichter.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Bo Zhao and staff, Firelands Infusion Center, Kathy McGraw NP-C, Dr. Larry Robinson, Southern Care Hospice, and Concord Care Center for their care of our beloved Vince.

Vince wished to be cremated and there will be no service. The family plans to hold a celebration of life at a later date.

Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements. Condolences may be shared online by visiting toftfuneralhome.com.

“Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.”

My heartfelt condolences to all of Vince's family. I worked with him for many years; was one of few who was older than him. He always had a fun greeting to bring a smile to my day. His obvious dedication to his work will be missed.

Deb and family, I was saddened to hear of the news of Vince’s passing. I am praying for you and yours as you walk through these very difficult days. He was such a genuinely kind person and I am so glad to know that his love for His Savior, Jesus was so prevalent in his life. I am sure he shined like a bright light to all those around him. I was very young when we grew up across the street from him but I remember him clearly and am grateful for that connection. God bless you, Deb. Peace and comfort to you all.
