Rickey Philon, 63, of Sandusky, entered eternal rest on February 27, 2021 at Stein Hospice Care Center.

He was born on December 1, 1957 in Sandusky to Gentle and Thelma (Merrida) Philon. He attended Sandusky High School and worked various jobs.

Fishing was the love of his life. He was the life of the party and lit up the room once he entered. Always asking, “You alright?” He will be truly missed!

Rickey leaves to cherish his memory, son, Richard Shine; brothers, Charles (Dawn) and Kenny (Robin) Philon; sister, Barbara Philon, all of Sandusky; special cousins, Thelma Towner and Delbert Pickens; special friend, Dale Irby; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; brother, Gentle R. “Tim”; sister, Thelma Jean; nieces, Nicole Williams and Latoya Taylor; nephew, Derrick “Big Red” Philon; and numerous other family members.

A private funeral will be held. You may access a live webcast (and the funeral will be viewable for 90 days after the funeral) by visiting Rickey’s obituary page on toftfuneralhome.com, where you may also leave online condolences. A walk-through visitation will take place from 1-3 p.m. on Monday, March 8 at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rickey’s family, in care of the funeral home.
