Obituary

John E. Bays, 61, of Sandusky, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Saturday, February 13, 2021 in his home.

He was born on April 27, 1959 in Sandusky to the late Donald and Wanda (Gayhart) Bays. He attended Perkins High School and was currently employed by J.H. Routh packing – a job he has had for 41 years.

John loved NASCAR and being outdoors. Nothing made him happier than visits from his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl A. (Gladwell) Bays; daughter, Tiffany (James) Mullens; son, Rodney White; grandchildren, Jameson, Jayda, and Jagger; siblings, Susan (Tony) Pollack, Randy Bays, and Kim Pelc; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private services will be held, per John’s wishes. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by visiting jdrf.org.
