Obituary

Janet Marie Post (Valentine), 70, died peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2021 at Stein Hospice Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jan was born on May 25, 1950 to the late Robert Valentine and Alice Tusing Valentine. She married Roger W. Post, who predeceased her in 2006. A lifelong resident of Ohio, Jan graduated from Attica High School in 1968. She graduated from Nationwide Beauty School, Columbus, Ohio, in 1969. She worked as a hair stylist for several years at J.C. Penney hair salon in Sandusky.

Jan especially loved animals and adopted several pets from the Erie County Humane Society. She adored her furry friend and companion, Bree. Jan loved living on Lake Erie and spent many hours boating and fishing. She was an avid bowler and was a member of several bowing leagues over the years.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Sharon Valentine; her niece, Kayla Valentine; and great-nephew, Kadence Valentine; and many friends and relatives.

Jan was also preceded in death by her brother, Larry Valentine.

A special thanks to the staff at Cancer Services and Stein Hospice for their compassion and care. Also, a special thanks to Judy for caring for Bree and for her friendship.

At the request of Jan, cremation will take place. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements. Donations may be made in Jan's name to the Erie County Humane Society, Cancer Services of Sandusky, or Back to the Wild. Condolences may be shared online by visiting toftfuneralhome.com.
