Obituary

Harold Ernest Goodsite, 84, residing in Huron and formerly of Norwalk, passed away on Wednesday evening, January 6, 2021 at Admiral’s Pointe.

He was born March 21, 1936 in Norwalk to Russel Goodsite and Mae V. (Sheppard) Goodsite.

Harold spent most of his life in the Norwalk area, where he worked to raise his family of eight children. He spent more than 25 years working at UPS until he retired and moved to Sweetwater, TN, where he lived for 15 years, enjoying the warmer weather.

Harold enjoyed spending time with his wife of 66 years, fishing on his boat on Lake Erie. He also enjoyed quick-draw shooting and was someone who could fix or repair just about anything.

Harold is survived by his children, Michael Goodsite (Naomi), Julie Butler, Bonny Jones (Mike), Gary Goodsite (Debra), Shelley Mosley (Gary), and Kasey Haudenshild (Eric); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Dutch Goodsite, Ronnie Goodsite, Lynn Goodsite, and Shirley Geiss.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (Ross) Goodsite, children, Steve Goodsite and Gerald “Joey” Goodsite; parents, Russel Goodsite and Mae Goodsite Garner; siblings, Jenny Garner, Evelyn Hinckley, Clyde Goodsite, and Gordon Goodsite.

Cremation will take place with private family services at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements. The family suggests that donations be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870. Condolences may be shared online at toftfuneralhome.com.
