Douglas Lee Gowdy, 79, Sandusky, was called home by his God, Friday, May 7, 2021. He was born February 9, 1942 in Whynot, Mississippi to the late Jessie Mae Gowdy and John Gowdy Sr.

Douglas Lee Cole gave his life to Christ at an early age, where he joined Gilfield Missionary Baptist Church in Pushmataha, Alabama.

Douglas served honorably in the United States Army from 1965 - 1967. He was dedicated employee with Ocean Pacific.

He leaves to cherish his loving and fond memories, five daughters, Ramona Dickerson, Toledo, OH, Betty Lynn Molthus, Meridian, MS, Angela Reynolds, Los Angeles, CA, Tara Rollison and Morna (Tommy) Thompson both of Columbus, OH; two brothers, Elijah (Evelyn) Goudy, Sandusky, and Larry (Angela) Gowdy, Louisville, KY; aunt, Cynthia Mae Gowdy, Sandusky; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Barbara Dickerson Gowdy, second wife, Betty Lou Rollison-Gowdy; three brothers, John Gowdy Jr., Lawrence Curtis “LC” and Felacy Gowdy; two sisters, Flora Randle and Mary Lee Cole.

Friends may call on Thursday, May 13. 2021, from 11 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery. Condolences may be made to the family by visiting toftfuneralhome.com.
